Results: Grandview October 15th
Hopes were high for the Thunder on the Hill event at Grandview. We put a setup in the car for Grandview and it was dialed in.
After a few warm up laps we were going through the turns flat footed and the car was hooked up.

We started near the rear in the feature and on the green jumped ahead a few positions.
Stuck up on the high side we ended up going three wide out of turn two and the rear bumper hit the wall and sucked the front end into the wall. Damage was not that bad but ended our night early.
It may be another year till we get back to Grandview, unfortunately this was a great opportunity and not the outcome we should have had.
Last Race of the season comign up on October 29th ant New Egypt Speedway.

Results October 1st 2011: Bridgeport Speedway
With the Romanno Race rained out we went to Bridgeport Speedway to race on the 1/4 mile track. The race was a Big Block Modified race with open rules.
We went out on the track for a practice session and were unable to keep the fuel pressure up. We made some quick changes to the engine when we decided to go to Bridgeport and we brought it back to the pits to make sure it was right.
A couple tweeks and everything sorted out we went out for the 1st heat and started 3rd.

With no laps on the track turn 1 was going to be intresting. We managed to get through it and did some side by side racing till the first caution came out. Restarting 4th we made a quick jump in turn 1 and shot under the 2nd place car and later took home a 2nd place finish.
The feature was a redraw and we picked the 11th starting spot. It was an exciting feature with a rain delay half way through were we stayed on the track. Team finished up 12th on a sucessful night.
Look for the team to return to action on October 15th for Thunder on the Hill at Grandview Speedway.
Results September 17th - Final Points Night

Night number two with the new Chassis and we ended up qualifying and finishing 17th in the feature. Nothing to write home about but we brought the car home pretty much untouched.
We finished up the season 22nd out of about 45 teams, not quite the season we were looking for but we continue to improve, sometimes taking a step back to take two forward.
We have two shows left the Romano race for 84 laps and the 5 25's at Grandview where last year we finished 11th. Grandview is usually a good gauge of how much we have progressed so we are looking forward to the race.
After that we will be off till next year, plans are to put together a 2nd car to be able to race every weekend when time permits. This year there were so many rain outs and shows cancelled It seemed like we barely did any racing.
Next year will be our 5th year, and hopefully a more competitive season in the Sportsman Division.

Back at it.

Car worked well out the gate, just needed some tweaks on the brakes. We had a pole spot in the first heat but after the warm ups were were not 100% and we elected to go to the rear in the first heat, also it would give us a chance to shake down the car a bit more.
After the heat we made a few ajustments and went out for the consi and started 10th and finished 7th. Not enough time to get in to 6th to qualify and ended the night early but in one piece. A success for the first time back with the new car.
We will be ready to go next week September 17th back to qualifying.
Update:August 20th
We are looking to return to action on August 27th.
While we are regrouping it gives us a chance to look back and reflect on the season so far:
Last year we were unable to qualify in the Sportsman Division and this year we were able to accomplish this within the first two races. We also began to make progress with qualifying trough the heat races and almost broke into the top ten.
Recently a couple of mistakes put us a few steps back and lead us to refocus the rest of the season to finishing races and staying out of trouble, sometimes self induced.

We will be ready to get back at it soon with a newly rebuilt car and focus.

The bad luck continues, leading the 2nd lap in the heat coming out of turn 4 I got in the back of a car that slid up in front of me and got hit from the side and behind at the same time.
Twisted in and turned down the frontrstreach, and tore up the car pretty good.
Will have to regroup and see where we end up for now we might be out for a while.
Check back soon.

Heat Out - No Race
RESULTS July 16th

Had a good run in the heat race finished up 4th with a good solid run. Started 4th in the feature and never got a chance to get going. On the trailer before the first lap was complete, this one is hard to stomach, had a good car for sure, looking forward next Race Bridgeport Speedway July 23rd
June 25th
We had a good run in the heats qualifying for the feature by finishing 5th in the 1st heat. We are at the point where we are starting to try new things off our base setup, looking for better handling and more speed.
In the feature we would start on the pole and a little excited I managed to spin on the first lap going into the 3rd turn a little to far on the throttle. The track had just been re cut and it was a little slippery out there. Fortunately the car backed up into the wall with little damage, with that I had to restart at the back.
I would make it back up to 11th spot before we would get tangled up and hit by someone trying to get out of the way of another wreck (seems to be my MO Lately). Ended up braking the rear pan hard bar, that can really make it difficult to get around.
Finishing 13th with a broken suspension and some bent rear parts was good enough. We keep making progress and getting better, it should be a matter of time before we break the top 10.

Renninger Turns the Corner

Well that sounded good but we did make a big improvment over the course of the past two races. We again qualified and almost won the B main, but was inched out by .001 seconds to finish up 2nd. The feature we started in the 20th spot and managed to get past a number of cars in the first few laps up to about 15th when going to the outside in turn 1 a car spun up the track and had to again check up and ended up stalling out the car and had to go to the back of the pack. This would happen another time before the night was over. This night we continued to pass cars and managed to make it up to the 11th spot by the time the checkered came out. I would say this was the best car I have driven over the years, it seems that we are pretty close on breaking into the top ten, I though I could have had it this night if I didnt end up trying to avoid wrecks and ending up in the back, still have some mind foot control to work on driving through the wrecks, all in time. We return to New Egypt Speedway June 25th, looking for a top ten.
May 28th
aturday night we finally had the car dialed in and almost qualified through the heats but ended up taking 2nd in the consolation out of about 13 cars to transfer into the feature. We started 20th in the feature and managed to stay out of a couple wrecks that seemed to keep happening in front of us. We escaped with minor damage but we had to restart near the rear both times and got caught up in the back of the back. By the time we got going the field was on single file restarts and we didnt have enough to get ahead and settled for a 21st place finish. We now have a feature under out belt and should be making even more progress in the next few weeks. We return to New Egypt Saturday June 11th and will continue to turn up the performance, now that we are dialed in we are going to start getting after it.
May 14th

Evidently the shakedown continues yet a couple more kinks to work out, who would have known. We made first alternate this weekend and that means we almost qualified. Fun fact: A car drove straight into me, took out my left front shock and spring, I actually ran over the spring a lap later saying to myself "well at least Im not that guy" ha....it was me. Best part of the night passing the same guy who took me out, and it happened on the last lap without a left front spring and shock..hah ha....i never forget, anyway, had some issues with the Carb this week in addition to the hit, when this thing gets dialed in with no issues it will be something to write about for sure.
April 30th 2011
After a season opener crash we returned to the track 2 weeks later with a newer chassis. We changed out the entire car, and got to shake it down, not much to write about as we had to work out the kinks. A spark plug wire here, a blocked throttle link there, and some weight off the mark.
Look for us to return to New Egypt on May 14th dialed in, were ready to go, looking for a qualifying spot, should be interesting.

April 15th 2011
Opening day, over the weekend we had the car out with the new engine. Impressive power with the new setup. In the heat race we took it easy and shook everything down and brought it back in and fine tuned a couple things. This week we started 19th in the feature and ended up checking up on lap two to avoid a spinning car and stalled as we almost spun too. We had to go to the back in 21st. Within two laps we managed to make it back up to 14th with some impressive power .

On another restart we started on 14th on the outside row and got a quick jump on the restart and went to the out side into turn 1 when the steering turned up into the dashboard and left without any control of the car and went straight into the wall. Pretty hard hit and not the way we wanted to start out the year but we will move forward. We are going to the back up car for the rest of the season, but over all still excited with what we have this year.
